Description by Vincent Moon: “I arrived in Iquitos after a stupid 3 weeks trip up the Amazon river. I was exhausted, my head destroyed by loud and bad Brazilian music, and my bag had the good idea to drop into the river just before reaching the arrival.
While drying my hard drives, someone told me about the ‘floating neighborhood of Belén’. Even though buzzing with tourists when they are not on sofas tripping on ayahuasca, the place had a great charm, adding to what is really the only great city inside the Amazon basin.
Actually someone already made a film there, in the 80s, Gianfranco Annichini with “Radio Belén”. We re-used the sound of its own film in ours and filmed some of the main characters.
Here’s one day in the life of Belén, through its music and its people floating around the river while not in alcohol.” (Vimeo)

Sonidos del Perú is a “33 films and albums collection made by Vincent Moon all around the country, researching local music from Iquitos to Arequipa, from Pucallpa to Chiclayo, from Huancayo to Lima and more.
A poetic survey of the sounds of Peru nowadays, and unique documentation of the traditional cultures of one of the world’s greatest cultures. Uncovering hidden gems from the jungle or the mountains, portraying Perú like we never heard or seen before.” (Vimeo)
